Biography:
Ed Tittel is a full-time freelance writer based in Round Rock, TX. The author of over 100 computer trade books, he’s also the creator of the Exam Cram series of IT certification prep books. In his nearly 25 years as a writer on computing topics, Ed has written for numerous magazines including many from IDG, CMP, Ziff-Davis, and numerous other sources and imprints. Today, Ed contributes regularly to various TechTarget Web sites, IT Expert Voice, and Tom’s Hardware. His three most recent books are Windows 7 in Depth, Carrier Ethernet For Dummies, and XBRL Mandate For Dummies (the latter two items are from the Wiley custom publications group, created at the behest of vendors--in these cases, Ciena and Clarity Systems respectively). Ed’s strongest areas of technical/computing interest and expertise include Windows platforms, markup languages, and IT security topics.
